We're committed to the communities in which we work. Our charitable and community programs support innovative projects that are focused on producing real results.
Our employees and retirees pledged close to $1.3 million to the United Way this year—and we matched this, dollar-for-dollar. Our employees also regularly volunteer their time and talent to health and human services and programs that receive United Way funding, and many serve as directors on boards of United Way organizations in communities where they live and work.
In Philadelphia and North Carolina, our employees work with community organizations to collect items for local food banks during December. In 2006, GSK collected over eight tons of food, which was distributed to community neighbors in need.
