GlaxoSmithKline 13th Annual IMPACT Awards Philadelphia area winners
The GlaxoSmithKline IMPACT Awards acknowledge, highlight, and reward excellence in the nonprofit healthcare community by targeting organizations in the Philadelphia area that provide access to healthcare for the underserved.

On March 25, 2010 the GlaxoSmithKline 13th Annual Awards were presented to nine nonprofit organizations in the Philadelphia area. Each nonprofit was awarded $40,000 to continue their important work in the community. A judging panel made up of leading healthcare experts and GlaxoSmithKline representatives selected the following winners:
- Bucks County Health Improvement Partnership
- Chester County Community Dental Center
- Community Volunteers in Medicine (Chester County)
- The Crime Victims’ Center of Chester County, Inc.
- FairView Counseling, Inc. (Berks County)
- La Comunidad Hispana, Inc. (Chester County)
- Prevention Point Philadelphia
- Quest Therapeutic Services, Inc. (Chester County)
- Urban Solutions (Philadelphia)
As the number of uninsured Americans continues to grow, we are continually challenged to provide high quality, comprehensive healthcare services for those who, due to low-incomes, are unable to pay for their care. The GSK IMPACT Award not only recognizes our contribution to the community, but provides significant funding for us to continue our mission.

Since the awards began in the Philadelphia area, community-based, healthcare-related nonprofits have been awarded almost $5 million in recognition of their success dealing with diverse and difficult health issues such as access to care, genetic disorders, dental health, breast health, mental health, aging and chronic diseases.
In addition to access to healthcare, the selection criteria for the Awards include commitment to serving people in need; facilitating access to healthcare delivery, education, creative partnerships, and policy development; and demonstration of a solid record of achievement, management and leadership.
