US patient assistance programs
As a leader in pharmaceutical research, we are committed to helping patients gain access to the breakthrough medicines we discover. GlaxoSmithKline patient assistance programs provided medicines valued at over $438 million (Wholesale Acquisition Cost or WAC) to almost 415,000 patients in the U.S. during 2008. We offer many of our medicines free, or nearly free, for those who qualify. GSK has three programs in the U.S. that are designed to meet this need:
-
Bridges to Access Patients with low incomes may need help getting the medicines they need. Our program provides our non-cancer medicines for free through the mail or for low co-payments at retail drug stores if a patient needs medicine immediately.
-
Commitment to Access Our program for cancer and specialty pharmacy medicines provides medicines to low income patients or patients enrolled in a Medicare Part D prescription plan. Patients with no prescription drug benefits can obtain these outpatient medicines at no cost. A healthcare advocate will help you to enroll in the program.
-
Bridges to Access GSK Access provides GlaxoSmithKline non-oncology prescription medications at no cost to Medicare Part D Prescription Drug Plan enrollees who meet the eligibility requirements. The medicine is obtained free at a local retail pharmacy.
